Suzanne specializes in working with anxious and active youth to improve emotional identification, regulation, and communication skills. She has an interest in supporting the parent child relationship. Suzanne believes in a child centred approach and aims to build connection, belonging and trust through play, activity and creation. She also knows relationships are a necessary foundation when working towards desired goals. Strength based and trauma informed, Suzanne is compassionate, attentive and understanding.
Using Adventure Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Suzanne works with youth on skills such as, anxiety regulation, cooperation, understanding natural consequence and problems solving. This involves activities (games, walks, art), reflection (conversation about) and application of experiences to everyday life.
First sessions are always booked in office but getting outdoors with youth is a natural transition in Suzanne's practice. There is so much to be learned outside!
